Rabbi Nancy Fuchs Kreimer will discuss the current state of relations between Jewish and Muslim communities in this country, based on her formal and informal encounters with Muslims in different settings: the world of academic religion scholars, professional interfaith organizations, college campuses. She will report on the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College's efforts to promote the dialogue developing among emerging religious leaders of both faiths.
Nancy directs the Department of Multifaith Studies and Initiatives at the RRC. Through funding from the Henry Luce Foundation, Nancy has been able to develop innovative programming in Muslim-Jewish Dialogue not only for RRC students but for Jewish seminarians across the denominations. This year she has also been teaching a multifaith class of undergraduates at City College of New York in a course on "Muslim-Jewish Relations.
